Hey there, Blunt Bumps family! It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for us. I’m eager to share the latest updates with all of you.
Settling into Our New Home
Since my household goods finally made their way to our new place, we’ve been on a mission to finish unpacking. Most of our stuff is in place, but there are still a few boxes lingering in the office/craft room and some totes to sort through in the guest bedroom. Nevertheless, it feels good to be mostly settled in!
Christmas Joy in Kansas
We recently took a road trip to Kansas to spend Christmas with my family. Breaking up the drive into two days allowed us to arrive at my parents’ house right around lunchtime. The week was filled with precious moments, especially watching my fiancé interact with my young niece and nephews. It solidified my excitement about him becoming a fantastic father to our little one.
New Year’s Reflection
After a joyful Christmas, we hit the road on December 31st, initially planning an overnight stop. However, the good pace we made led us to decide to push through and get home, waking up on New Year’s Day in our own space. It was a low-key day, much-needed after the road trip.
Rollercoaster of Pregnancy Symptoms
Despite feeling mostly good during our time at my parents’ place, New Year’s Day brought on a stomach ache that lingered throughout the day. The next couple of days were a bit rough, marked by some vomiting episodes. Thankfully, my fiancé’s support and our Sleep Number bed made a significant difference in managing those challenging moments.
A Peek into Baby’s World
The highlight of the week was our Thursday morning OBGYN appointment and ultrasound. Baby was active and thriving, measuring ahead of schedule in various aspects. The heartbeat was a reassuring 152BPM, and the weight at 12oz exceeded expectations. I can’t help but wonder if these early measurements hint at the possibility of an early arrival.
Exciting Gender Reveal Plans
Before the ultrasound, I got creative and painted two onesies—one pink and one blue. We brought them to the appointment, where the sonographer concealed the correct one for our upcoming gender reveal this Saturday. We’re involving our online community in the guessing game, adding a touch of excitement to the big reveal.
Conclusion
As we navigate the occasional bumps in the road, we’re grateful for the overall positive progress. Now, at 19 weeks and 6 days, we eagerly anticipate the joyous moment of unveiling our baby’s gender.
Stay tuned for more updates on our journey. Now that we are mostly settled in and the holidays are over, the updates should become much more consistent. Thank you for being a part of our Blunt Bumps family!
